No News is Good News?

Things have gone silent on the home buying front, and we’ve also reached out to another prospective seller.  It was an unsolicited offer but it could be a better deal.  We’re still hoping and praying that things will work out for the best and what ever is decided, we know it is the best decision for everyone involved.  There is no reason to be greedy or put too much hope into something when you’re already blessed as it is.  In any event, we’re still very optimistic we’ll be working on something this summer with the eventual move to the Watkins Glen area.

In other news, I added a subdomain to this one: Oremus.Candidly.Us to showcase the Catholic Pebble app I created.  I’m pretty happy with how things have turned out considering my limited (and fledgling) coding abilities.  I think Javascript was the right language for me to learn on and I’m learning a bunch by putting it to use.  There was a gap between finishing up the codecadey courses and starting this app so the code is pretty gnarly.  I really need to run through those courses again and see if I can get some of the more advanced concepts down so I can tune things up a bit.  The app looks great but there is one bug I’m not sure I’ll be able to squash.  I’m not sure if it’s a limitation of how the code runs between my phone and the watch, or if it’s just my code full stop.  Probably the latter.

One big bit of exciting news is after 15 years off from snowboarding I hit the slopes with Beth and her family.  Beth has never skied or snowboarded so we put her on a pair of skis and it went well enough to go buy her a setup! We also just bought season passes to Swain for next winter at a steal of a deal.  Now we’re hikers in the summer and skiers in the winter.  It was a lot of fun and it was like riding a bike for me.  my 15 year old snowboard, which was pretty much new when I stopped, tuned up great! I’ll need new boots next year but otherwise we’re both kitted right out for the next season.

That’s all the fun stuff from here.
